Overview

Reflexion provides a website for monitoring real time deliverability of email, based on the round trip time of test messages sent inbound and outbound through their data centers. The website monitoring can be configured in LabTech to alert if any inbound or outbound latency is detected and proactively alert you.

The Reflexion Monitors set contains four different monitors.

  • Reflexion RADAR UI Availability: Website latency monitor that checks the latency to https://radar.reflexion.net every five minutes to ensure that the system is available and users are able to log in.
  • Reflexion Total Control Inbound Latency: TCP Network Check monitor that checks http://monitor.reflexion.net/rtw-dataonly.php?m=asp.reflexion.net on port 80 every five minutes to ensure the inbound connection of the mail scanner is functioning normally.
  • Reflexion Total Control Outbound Latency: TCP Network Check monitor that checks http://monitor.reflexion.net/rtw-dataonly.php?m=asp.reflexion.net on port 80 every five minutes to ensure the outbound connection of the mail scanner is functioning normally.
  • Reflexion Total Control UI Availability: Website Latency Check monitor that checks the latency to https://asp.reflexion.net every five minutes to ensure that the system is available and users are able to log in.

Installing the Reflexion Monitors

  1. Download the 'Add Reflexion Monitoring' script from the Marketplace. The script will be placed in the Scripts > _System Automation > Agent Maintenance folder.

Note NOTE: If you need information on how to use the Marketplace, refer to the Marketplace documentation.

  2. Schedule the script on the client, location, agent or group by right-clicking on the target and select Scripts > _System Automation > Agent Maintenance.

Tip TIP: The recommended practice is to create a 'Reflexion' group for those agents that you want to monitor and run the script on that particular group.

  3. The Start Date and Time will default to the current date and time. You can use the drop-down to bring up a calendar to select a different date. Time can be entered manually.
  4. Select the frequency in which to run the selected script. Available options are: one time only, daily, weekly, bi-weekly and monthly.
  5. Select the Run Right Now checkbox to run the script right now.
  6. Select where you want to run the script. The available options will be dependent on where you chose to run the script. If you selected a specific computer to run the script, you will see all options (computer, client, location and these groups). To run it on a group instead of the specific computer, right-click in the white area and select the appropriate groups.
  7. If you chose a client, location or group, the Search Limiting drop-down allows you to limit the computers to a specific search. For example, you can limit the computers to run the script on for the selected client, location or group to just Windows Desktops by selecting the 'Computer Types\Computers – Windows desktop' search from the Search Limiting drop-down.
  8. Click Create

Note NOTE: For additional information on scheduling scripts, refer to the Scheduling Scripts documentation.

In the example shown, the script was run on a 'Reflexion' group. The script created the four Reflexion monitors on each agent in the group. You can view the monitors by expanding Client > Location > Agent > Monitors and then double-clicking on the agent or by double-clicking on the group and selecting the Remote Monitors tab.

Note NOTE: You can apply monitors to other computers by dragging and dropping the monitors into the desired groups. Because these monitors are created at the agent level, the monitors will not automatically apply to the members of the group. The script will need to be re-run. Please note that if you made any changes to the configuration of the monitor (e.g., latency interval, etc.) these changes will be overwritten to the default settings.

  9. Apply the monitors to other computers by dragging and dropping the monitors into the desired groups. This will create the monitor on every member of the group.
  10. Double-click on a group that you applied these monitors to and then click on the Remote Monitors tab.

  11. Highlight each Reflexion monitor to make any changes, such as alert styles, intervals, alert template to use, script to run, etc. If you need additional information on how to modify Remote Monitors, please refer to the Remote Monitors documentation.
